November Talks 2025. What Moves Architecture?
This year, the Sto Foundation's November Talks are entering a new phase, with the addition of two new universities in Ghent and Madrid. In their lectures, renowned European architects will combine architectural practice with theoretical discourse to open up a space for ideas and debates about the future of construction.
Topics such as sustainability, design methods, construction processes and social responsibility serve as starting points for reflection and action, with a particular focus on the interaction between design and ecological action. This time, the interaction between design and ecological action is at the forefront.
The variety of programmes offered by each city demonstrates the scope of the event. In Stuttgart, architects such as Jeannette Kuo (Karamuk Kuo, Zurich) and Sandra Torres and Adrià Guardiet (08014 Arquitectura, Barcelona) will explore the theme of 'Shaping Change: The Changing Nature of Design' and its impact on everyday planning. The speakers in Paris are set to examine the idea of 'radicalism' within architectural and cultural fields, examining projects such as those by Forensic Architecture and the revitalisation of cultural heritage. In Prague, the focus will be on materiality and reuse, and on exploring how these topics can be incorporated into urban spaces, whereas in Vienna, the focus is on the metabolism of the city.
Following the lectures, there will be discussion forums where students and professionals can engage in direct dialogue with the speakers. This creates a lively platform for exchange where theory meets practice and fresh perspectives can emerge. Admission is free.
