Sto Foundation announces professorship for architecture
For the start of the 2021/22 winter semester, the Foundation once again wants to support research-oriented teaching approaches and has therefore announced that it will fund a W2 architecture professorship for three years. All domestic and international universities, technical universities and academies can apply.
The Foundation's architecture professorship is not tied to a specific subject. Instead, it is intended to help an institution of higher learning pursue and establish new fields of study and conduct research. This will open up new perspectives for gifted young researchers.
Prof. Ralf Pasel: “The teaching and researching of architecture in today’s academic landscape is handled and characterised in a variety of ways. Each faculty has its own specific qualities and priorities. For the new professorship, this offers maximum flexibility for innovative approaches and creative development, as well as the questioning of conventional design and construction processes.”
The professorship could also be provided additional start-up funding that would allow this research to begin quickly. The application should describe the technical aspects of the professorship as well as the concept of integrating it into the teaching and research activities of the faculty.
Applications can only be submitted at www.sto-stiftung.de/professur.
The submission deadline is 30 June 2021. An independent jury of experts will evaluate the applications and announce the result in July 2021.
