Intermediate space and time
Du sitzt in ihr fest und du kannst nicht entfliehen,
Dich trotz aller Kraft ihrem Lauf nicht entziehen.
Irdische Grenzen, in die sie dich zwängt,
Von endlicher Weite unendlich bedrängt.
Du willst in ihr verweilen, willst, dass irgendwas bleibt.
Statt Wechsel und Wandel, Beständigkeit.
Doch dem Tag folgt die Nacht, Dunkelheit folgt dem Licht.
Neues kommt, Altes weicht, nichts bleibt so wie es ist.
Du rennst ihr hinterher, aber sie dir davon,
Wie durch ein Labyrinth aus rohem Beton.
Hinein läuft man leicht, doch man kommt nicht mehr raus.
Denn rasten fällt schwerer, je schneller der Lauf.
Aus ihr auszubrechen gilt es sich zu trauen,
Denn Wände sind Grenzen, die wir uns selber bauen.
Doch tickende Zeiger sind nur schwache Schranken,
Die knicken und brechen an starken Gedanken.
Wir sind irgendwo hier, zwischen Anfang und Ende.
Die Zeit ist ein Raum, ohne Dach, ohne Wände.
Sie bleibt wie sie ist, doch wir nicht wie wir sind.
So ist jeder Moment nur ein Ort zwischendrin.

About Stella Josefine Funk
Stella Josefine Funk was born in Giessen. While she was at school, she completed a year abroad in Lawrenceville, USA. After finishing high school, she started studying art history. However, in 2016 she changed to the interior design programme at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. She will complete her bachelor studies there in February 2019. For three years, she has been volunteering in the "young adults" area of the Free Christian Community of Wiesbaden. There, she contributes to the planning and organisation of youth work. She has also initiated various cross-community interior design projects. These include the concept development, planning and implementation of the modernisation plan as well as the redesign of the youth centres of several churches within the Rhine-Main region.
