The Land Question

In the very first week of my internship, impressions gained working day-to-day in the ARCH+ editorial office came at me thick and fast. At the moment I'm getting to grips with 'The Land Question', which will be the focal point of the first issue in 2018. The issue will look at historical developments and contemporary forms of participation, urban policy and urban development that, against the backdrop of increasing land speculation and privatisation, demonstrate new ways to coexist in a more sociable and just manner.

In celebration of the 16th Architecture Biennale in Venice, the issue will be published bilingually in German and English. This is part of the touring exhibition Commoning – Forms of Community that ARCH+ has developed in cooperation with the foreign cultural relations institute ifa and which opens in June 2018 in Berlin.

For my part I read fundamental texts, edit existing articles and research current cases in Berlin, Hamburg, Luxembourg, Munich, Paris and Stockholm, which I then illustrate in the form of drawings and texts. It's exciting to see how a magazine slowly transforms into something tangible and how texts are processed.
