Joint scholarship program

Sto Foundation, ARCH+ and ARCH+ Verein zur Förderung des Architektur- und Stadtdiskurses e.V.

In the awareness that critical reflection and communication of the societal significance of architecture and the urban landscape is indispensable for a refined discussion on building culture, the Sto Foundation is strengthening its commitment in this area with a scholarship program which it released for the first time this year in conjunction with the charitable ARCH+ Verein zur Förderung des Architektur- und Stadtdiskurses e.V. (German Association for the Promotion of an Architectural and Urban Discourse).

The scholarship program aims to offer exceptional young talents in architecture and its neighbouring disciplines the opportunity to actively participate in the architectural and urban discourse and to expand their skills and ability to reflect on and communicate the theoretical aspects of architecture. Thanks to the cooperation with the internationally renowned and discourse-promoting magazine ARCH+, the scholarship beneficiaries are given a glimpse of architectural promotion and mediation. They can also make contacts for practical and research purposes and personally discover the work of leading architectural firms and authors. This network can give the scholarship beneficiaries major incentives to develop an independent profile and can have a positive effect on their professional future.

Applications can be submitted by students and graduates in the subject areas of architecture, town planning and art and cultural studies, with a specialisation in architecture, to the board of the ARCH+ association.

About the institutions

Since it was founded in 2005, the Sto Foundation has supported the conscious design and creation of the built environment and alongside construction and research projects, also supports young people with their practical trade or academic education and training.

The ARCH+ association was founded in 2014 by renowned experts for the promotion of an architectural and urban discourse which is relevant to society.

Since 1968, the ARCH+ magazine has become an indispensable medium which not only covers the latest architectural news, but also influences the world of architecture with its coverage of specific issues and topics.
